Why buy a better fence charger?

I don't know what you're fencing in, but here's my experience. I have a lot of electric fence, mostly steel corners and t posts. I have added pvc over several corners as I think to do it. I have a Gallagher electric fence charger that got struck by lightening and I sent it back for repair. While it was gone I bought a Red Snapper to fill in. Long story short, hooked to the same fence, Gallagher fencer is 8100v, Red Snapper is 5200v. If you try to save a buck by buying less of a charger you will cause more work and aggravation so just be sure you get the best you can get and that is not usually what you get at the farm store.
